Rich Enterprise Application Platform for AJAX and SOA

The Web 2.0 movement is traveling at astounding speed. The two big players, AJAX and SOA, are becoming key enablers for a new class of web-based business applications. John will discuss the need for a new type of platform called the Rich Enterprise Application Platform (REAP) capable to encompass and support enterprise web 2.0 applications. This new platform abstracts and leverages traditional middleware while providing key capabilities needed for web-based applications. Some have even given this higher-level middleware the names "upperware" and "business application middleware". Whatever one calls it, it will change the way we design, develop and deploy web-based business applications. Finally, John will also discuss the three pillars of REA-based systems and demonstrate the power of using a REAP to drive disruptive solutions such as portal-less portals.

John is the CTO of JackBe Corporation. As CTO he is entrusted with understanding market forces and business drivers to drive JackBe's technical vision and strategy. John Crupi has 20 years experience in OO and enterprise distributed computing.
