AJAX Used to Shorten Long Hyperlink URLs on URLic.com

Turning a Long URL Link Into a Short 10-12 Characters Link Takes Not More Than 3 Seconds

Many internet users post links to YouTube, MySpace and various blogging sites. The problem with these links is that they are very long, because they contain various parameters in the URL address line. A link to a specific item on eBay, for example, can be 100 characters long and even more. These links are impossible to remember and do not look good in any context. The solution is to use a URL forwarding or a URL redirection service. URLic.com is a URL redirection service specifically designed to make posting links from YouTube, MySpace, FaceBook and other popular sites easy and convenient.

Designed with AJAX Web 2.0 technology, URLic.com works just like a desktop tool. No registration is required and there are no page reloads. Turning a long URL link into a short 10 or 12 characters link takes not more than 3 seconds (including the copy/paste). Another big advantage of URLic.com is the option to choose your own URL suffix. That means that users can customize the short URL. This way URLs can be short and descriptive.

Eugene Campbell, the creator of URLic.com said: "Many people want to use URL forwarding for many different reasons. These reasons include sharing links from Blog Sites like blogger.com, video sites like YouTube.com, public auction sites like eBay.com and many others. People want a link that is short and easy to remember. People prefer to have a shorter link to email to friends or put on their own website, Blog or newsletter. The other kind of users is professionals like writers and journalists who would prefer including a short URL in their Articles and books. Webmasters and Affiliate marketing people who would prefer masking the long affiliate links with a short and descriptive URL, also use this service. These are just a few examples to the many possible uses."
