RIA & Ajax: Article

Creator of Seam and Hibernate Joins AJAXWorld 2007 East Faculty

Gavin King Will Talk in New York City on "Seam and AJAX"

"Quite simply," says Gavin King (pictured), its creator, "Seam is an abstract architecture for stateful, event-driven apps which can be equally applicable to J2EE and SOA applications." King will be giving a session on "Seam and AJAX" at AJAXWorld Conference & Expo 2007 East in March.

Seam may have ignited the latest Java revolution by taking on another big problem for Java developers: how to better build end-to-end web apps with state, orchestration and reliability? King, who is also founder of the Hibernate approach to solving persistence, has firm opinions. "For now AJAX frameworks are all still basically experimental technology," he has written.

He contributed heavily to the design of EJB 3.0 and with Christian Bauer, he was author of Hibernate in Action. King works for JBoss, Inc, leading the development of Hibernate and Seam, implementing EJB 3.0, and providing services to JBoss customers. He lives in Melbourne, Australia, and Atlanta, Georgia.

In 2005 he was interviewed by SYS-CON's Jeremy Geelan on SYS-CON.TV.
