Jon Ferraiolo to Introduce "OpenAjax Hub 1.0 and Beyond" at AJAXWorld Conference & Expo

In this session, Jon Ferraiolo will explain why 80+ leading Ajax companies came together to form the OpenAjax Alliance

In this session, Jon Ferraiolo will explain why 80+ leading companies in the AJAX industry have come together to form the OpenAjax Alliance. He will introduce the alliance's mission and objectives, its accomplishments to date, and its vision for the future. The talk will highlight the OpenAjax Hub 1.0, the first major deliverable from the alliance. (The OpenAjax Hub is a lightweight JavaScript library for linking together AJAX components via an industry standard client-side publish/subscribe manager. The pub/sub manager allows the integration of different AJAX toolkits within the same Web application.) Other topics include a roadmap for the OpenAjax Hub 1.1; the OpenAjax Conformance trust brand; the OpenAjax Registry (the industry-wide registry for JavaScript globals that helps minimize JavaScript object collisions when mixing AJAX toolkits); the IDE Integration Working Group's efforts to define standard metadata to allow arbitrary AJAX toolkits to plug into arbitrary AJAX IDEs; the Communications Hub for enabling Comet-style server-push within mashup scenarios; and our OpenAjax initiatives around secure mashups and Mobile AJAX.
