AJAXWorld - How Can We Deliver a "Continuous Experience" on the Web?

Nexaweb's Enterprise Web 2.0 Platform at AJAXWorld 2008 East in NYC

Delivering a continuous experience on the Web can only be achieved by either mastering the 200 different AJAX toolkits out there, or employing a platform like Nexaweb's Enterprise Web 2.0 Platform. That, in a nutshell, was the take-home from Coach Wei & Bob Buffone's highly entertaining presentation at the 5th International AJAXWorld Conference & Expo today in New York City.

In a completely packed Grand Ballroom in the historic Roosevelt Hotel in midtown Manhattan, Wei & Buffone's session was titled "Now Playing: Desktop Apps in the Browser!"

"Desktop in the browser" sounds so good in theory, but how can it be done in practice? One way is to embrce multiple runtimes, said Buffone. Sometime AJAX and JavaScript aren't going to be enough, sometmes the Java runtime is going to be needed.

They demo'd three specimen apps that showed this philosophy in action.
