Backbase Releases Enterprise AJAX 4.2, Offering Developers "Choice"

Increases Productivity With Choice of Technology and Methodology for AJAX Development

Backbase introduced Enterprise AJAX 4.2, a new version of the AJAX framework. This new release gives developers more choice than any other AJAX framework. Choice translates into unmatched productivity, as AJAX developers can choose their preferred technology and methodology.

The new Enterprise AJAX framework supports multiple development technologies methodologies: developers can choose between rich and lightweight AJAX functionality, between CSS and XPath, between JavaScript and tag-based development, between JSON and XML, between native widgets and 3rd party widgets and between online and offline RIAs.

“Backbase Enterprise AJAX 4.2 allows developers to be more productive by allowing them to create Enterprise applications with a lot less code.” Says Gerbert Kaandorp, Backbase, CTO.  “Developers can choose their preferred development methodology:  choice, reusability and object orientation have made Backbase Enterprise AJAX the preferred AJAX development platform for Global 2000 companies”.

In addition to introducing choice of methodology, this new version adds several other enhancements, among which:

  • New hierarchical data binding
  • New Data Services module
  • Support for lightweight AJAX
  • New and improved widgets
  • Performance enhancements

A more detailed list of Enterprise AJAX 4.2 features is available at: http://bdn.backbase.com/4.2/client/whatsnew

Backbase Enterprise AJAX 4.2 is now available. It includes a free Community License for development and deployment on up to 2 server-CPUs. A commercial license is available to businesses needing more CPUs or professional support and software maintenance.  A JSF Edition (optimized for Java Server Faces) will be available next month.
